Coated Superelastic Wires (return

Nitinol wire can achieve complete recovery after
application of strains up to 8%. This behavior
is known as superelasticity. With the proper
treatment, the wires are extremely corrosion resistant.
Various polymeric coatings (polyurethane,
elastic mass, nylon, etc.) render the wire useful
in a wide variety of applications. For example,
PTFE-coated wire is used in corrosive environments
such as chemical industries and marine applications.
Insulating coatings such as PVC, PA, PP and
TPU are useful in electromagnetic antenna products
such as mobile and wireless network cards. Peier
applies the appropriate coating process (e.g., hot
extrusion molding, injection molding, collar molding,
spray coating) to achieve the customer's specification.
